Growing from a need we couldn’t ignore.

Why did a Registered Investment Advisor dedicate resources to aging?

"Where should I live? Is a warmer climate better? What else should I be doing?" asked a widowed client, with no children, struggling to make decisions on where she should live as she aged. She was at a Fisher Investments client event hoping Ken Fisher the founder and Executive Chairman of Fisher Investments could answer her non-financial questions.

She didn’t know where else to go to get her non-financial questions answered and was hopeful to be pointed in the right direction. Not finding a reliable alternative, we helped her consider the unique needs and goals she held for her future, educated her on the options available and the decisions she needed to make, and we believe we helped her find the right living arrangement.

Our story didn’t stop there. Seeing an opportunity to help people beyond their financial concerns, Ken invested resources into creating a separate service to help people answer questions like:

  • Where do I start to avoid being a burden on my loved ones?
  • How do I find fulfillment after I retire?
  • What do I need to do to maintain my independence even after a crisis?
  • What is long term care?
  • How can I connect better with my children or grandchildren?
  • Can I really age in my own home or is there a better option for me?

As medical and technological advances add potentially 30+ years to our lives, new challenges, opportunities and questions emerge on how to maximize your quality of life. We realized we can help in a more comprehensive way beyond asset management. And Fisher Life Planning was formed.

The Fisher Life Planning service helps you anticipate and plan for the non-financial, non-medical twists in the road that people wouldn’t normally think about. We provide expert guidance, education and resources to empower you to help you live better.
